  POLICE ARE CALLING THE DEATH OF A WOMAN WHO WAS FOUND IN ALLENTOWN, SUSPICIOUS.  POLICE SAY 60-YEAR-OLD SHIRLEY DILEO WAS FOUND DEAD IN A HOME IN THE 500 BLOCK OF CHEW STREET LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON.  AN AUTOPSY IS BEING PERFORMED TODAY.  NO OTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED.

 

 

  ALLENTOWN POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR THE MAN WHO SHOT AT ANOTHER MAN JUST AFTER NOON AT 10TH AND WALNUT STREETS.  POLICE SAY TWO MEN GOT INTO A FIGHT AND ONE OF THEM RETURNED TO THE AREA AND SHOT AT THE SECOND MAN, WHO SUFFERED ONLY A GRAZE WOUND IN THE LEG AND DECLINED TREATMENT.

 

 

  INVESTIGATORS ARE LOOKING INTO A PAIR OF FIRES THAT BROKE OUT IN BETHLEHEM MONDAY.  THE FIRST FIRE BEGAN AT 6 O'CLOCK MONDAY MORNING AND DROVE TWO FAMILIES FROM THEIR HOME ON PINE STREET.  THE SECOND FIRE BEGAN JUST BEFORE 5 O'CLOCK MONDAY AFTERNOON IN A THREE-STORY BUILDING ON MECHANIC STREET.

 

 

  LABOR DAY WEEKEND GRILLING LED TO A WEEKEND FIRE IN PEN ARGYL.  A SUNDAY AFTERNOON FIRE AT A FOUR-UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING BEGAN ON A GAS GRILL AND QUICKLY SPREAD TO THE WALLS OF THE BUILDING.  TWO FAMILIES WERE DISPLACED BY THE FIRE.  TWO FIREFIGHTERS SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES.

 

 

  LAST WEEK THE LEHIGH VALLEY PHANTOMS REVEALED THEIR 2014-2015 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE.  PHANTOMS V.P. CHRIS PORECCA SAYS IF YOU'RE NOT A SEASON TICKET HOLDER YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT A BIT LONGER TO BUY TICKETS.  "PROBABLY THE START OF OCTOBER IS WHEN WE'LL START TO RELEASE SINGLE GAME TICKETS.  WE WANT TO WAIT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE GREAT TURNOUT SO FAR.  WE DON'T WANT TO JEOPARDIZE ANY OF OUR SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AND PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR SEASON TICKETS," PORECCA SAYS.  ABOUT 3000 SEASON TICKETS HAVE BEEN SOLD FOR THE PHANTOMS INAUGURAL SEASON IN ALLENTOWN.

 

 

  A NEW JERSEY BOY IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER FALLING FROM A WINDOW ON LABOR DAY.  A FIVE-YEAR-OLD WARREN COUNTY BOY WAS FLOWN TO MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER AFTER HE FELL OUT OF A SECOND STORY WINDOW AT A HOME IN HANN TERRACE IN WASHINGTON.  POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING.  THE CHILD IS LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION.

 

 

  TWO MORE ATLANTIC CITY CASINOS ARE CLOSING IN THE SPACE OF TWO DAYS.  SHOWBOAT CLOSED ITS DOORS SUNDAY AND GAMBLERS AT REVEL WILL BE CASHING OUT FOR THE LAST TIME TODAY.  TWO WEEKS FROM NOW, TRUMP PLAZA WILL SHUT DOWN AND BACK IN JANUARY, THE ATLANTIC CLUB WENT OUT OF BUSINESS.  ATLANTIC CITY STARTED THE YEAR WITH 12 CASINOS AND WILL BE DOWN TO EIGHT BY THE MIDDLE OF THIS MONTH.

 

 

  NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE IS PREPARING FOR A TRIP TO MEXICO WHILE STAYING QUIET ON THE ISSUE OF IMMIGRATION REFORM.  CHRISTIE SAYS THE THREE-DAY 'TRADE MISSION' STARTING WEDNESDAY WILL BE FOCUSED ON EXPANDING ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIPS.  HE SAID LAST WEEK HE DOES NOT PLAN TO VISIT THE U.S.-MEXICO BORDER, SAYING IT WOULD BE "POINTLESS" FOR HIM TO DO SO.  POLITICAL ANALYSTS SAY THE TRIP IS ANOTHER SIGN THAT THE REPUBLICAN IS RAMPING UP HIS PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRATIONS.  CHRISTIE'S LAST INTERNATIONAL TRIP WAS TO ISRAEL IN 2012.

 

 

  CONTESTANTS ARE ARRIVING IN ATLANTIC CITY THIS EVENING WITH EACH HOPING TO BECOME THE NEW MISS AMERICA 2015.  THE WINNER WILL BE CROWNED SEPTEMBER 14.  THE CONTESTANTS ARE FROM AROUND THE U.S., PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS.  WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON IS AN OFFICIAL PUBLIC WELCOME AT KENNEDY PLAZA ON THE BOARDWALK.

 

 

  FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR 131 YEAR HISTORY, THE PHILLIES THREW A COMBINED NO HITTER.  COLE HAMELS THREW THE FIRST SIX NO HIT INNINGS BEFORE TURNING IT OVER TO THE BULLPEN AND SAYS HAVING FOUR GUYS THROW THE GEM MADE IT A LITTLE EXTRA SPECIAL.  "MOST OF THE TIME WHEN YOU SEE THESE SORT OF EVENTS HAPPEN, IT'S ONE OR TWO PEOPLE AND A GREAT PLAY.  TODAY IT TOOK FOUR OUTSTANDING PITCHERS TO GO OUT THERE," HAMELS SAID AFTER THE GAME.  JAKE DIEKMAN, KENNY GILES AND JONATHAN PAPELBON EACH THREW A HITLESS INNING TO FINISH OFF THE NO HITTER, WHICH IS THE 11TH COMBINED NO HITTER IN BIG LEAGUE HISTORY.
