  A SATURDAY EVENING MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT HAS LEFT A PEN ARGYL MAN DEAD.  25-YEAR-OLD DARREN STRINGER WAS DECLARED DEAD AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT ON MAIN STREET IN STOCKERTOWN.  INVESTIGATORS SAY STRINGER LOST CONTROL OF HIS MOTORCYCLE AND SLAMMED INTO A UTILITY POLE.

  AN 18-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS ARRESTED SUNDAY MORNING AND FACES GUN CHARGES AND TWO COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE.  ALLENTOWN POLICE TOOK DERELL CINTRON INTO CUSTODY EARLY SUNDAY.  THEY SAY CINTRON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A MARCH 17 SHOOTING IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF CHEW STREET.  ONE PERSON WAS SHOT SEVERAL TIMES AND ANOTHER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED BY SHATTERED GLASS CAUSED BY THE GUNFIRE.  BOTH VICTIMS ARE RECOVERING.  CINTRON IS IN LEHIGH COUNTY PRISON UNDER $15,000 BAIL.

  POLICE IN SLATINGTON USED A TASER ON AN ALLENTOWN MAN THEY SAY BECAME AGGRESSIVE WITH THEM EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.  41-YEAR-OLD KEVIN PETERS IS ACCUSED OF APPROACHING AN OFFICER WHILE THAT OFFICER WAS QUESTIONING WITNESSES TO A FIGHT THAT OCCURED ON MAIN STREET.  WHEN THE OFFICER ASKED PETERS TO BACK AWAY, HE CURSED THE OFFICER.  AT THAT POINT, A SECOND OFFICER TRIED TO HANDCUFF PETERS, WHO THEN ALLEGEDLY BEGAN STRUGGLING WITH THE OFFICER AND TRIED TO KICK HIM.  THAT OFFICER THEN PULLED OUT HIS TASER AND SUBDUED PETERS, WHO WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.
